Stars: Welcome
Enjoy your new edition of Stars
We are at a historic milestone for our company. Dorchester Collection has been chosen to manage a landmark hotel at the very top of Tokyo’s Torch Tower – set to be not only the tallest building in Japan but also an architectural world icon. This new hotel, to be named shortly, will be our first hotel in Asia when it opens in 2028.
With incomparable 360-degree panoramic views of Tokyo Bay enhanced by Mount Fuji, this mixed-use project is sure to be acclaimed for being a verdant ecological oasis in one of the world’s great cities.
The Torch Tower hotel is beacon for Dorchester Collection, highlighting this exciting time for our company, especially as it comes after our first hotel in the Middle East, The Lana, which opens next September.
Our ‘We Care’ culture was integral to us being selected for the management of this iconic hotel. Our new partners, Mitsubishi Estate Corporation and Tokyo Century, saw alignment with their ethos: ‘love for the city and people’. They also recognised our dedication to the art of hospitality and our passion for excellence, for which I thank you all.

Dorchester Collection is where stories are written and legends made. In our latest edition of Stars you can read a few of these tales involving our celebrated colleagues.
We talk to Kayleigh Wiltshire, our global director of people and culture, who is currently on maternity leave, about all the great benefits available to you as an employee of Dorchester Collection.
One of the other benefits of a career at Dorchester Collection is that it offers the chance to both progress and move at all levels of the organisation, as Luca Virgilio and Mirko Cattini, our two interviewees in this issue, have discovered. Inside, they share their plans as they are both now embedded in their general manager roles.
We would love to hear what you think of the new Stars, so please get in touch at stars@cedarcom.co.uk if you have any suggestions or stories that you think we should cover.
