Bell captain Carlos has been an integral part of the overall guest experience since he joined in 1996. He became departmental captain for service excellence, ensuring his team embraces guest centricity, and he is constantly being trained on the tool.
During the pandemic, Carlos’s unwavering spirit and positivity helped the team overcome the many obstacles thrown at them with ever-changing rules and regulations. From assisting other departments with needs such as removing in-room dining trays when the department was short-handed, to researching speciality items for guests and assisting the governance, risk and compliance team, there are many examples of Carlos’s extraordinary personality and care for employees and guests.
“It’s a great honour for me to accept the award,” says Carlos. “It reminds me of the importance of bringing passion and personality to work every day, as these qualities shine bright to our customers. I also want to thank my team because they are so supportive and inspire me daily.”

Deputy chef Dimitri is a unique person who puts others’ success before his own. He never says no and is always available to give his support.
Dimitri’s investment and hard work throughout the years, and especially during 2020/21, has led to the success of the ‘Take Away’ implementation but also contributed to the great success of the Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse.
Dimitri is also one of the reasons why the turnover in the team is very low, considering the global trend in the gastronomic field. Today the team is very tight-knit and strong, and a lot of the team members have grown alongside Dimitri to higher positions. To sum up Dimitri’s personality in three words: hard-working, committed and kind.
